The program of activities for residential students is an opportunity for the students to be involved in a group and individual activities which they will enjoy and which will develop their social, emotional and life skills.
St. John’s Academy also makes full use of the many attractions on Vancouver Island with ski and snowboarding trips to Mt. Washington in the winter and visits to Pacific Rim National Park/Tofino for surfing and the City of Victoria for theatre and concert performances.
Students may also involve themselves in activities in the local community either by volunteering or through use of the various facilities that the community has to offer.

Service to others and to the community is very much part of the St. John’s Academy Shawnigan Lake’s philosophy. It is very much encouraged to spend time volunteering at local institutions such as retirement homes or animal shelters or to involve yourself in environmental activities and peer tutoring.
