Our Boarding Team
We know that moving to a new country and living in a new home can feel daunting for students. That’s why each student at St. John’s Academy is assigned a staff member to be their advisor for the duration of their time at the school. Boarding students will also be supported by the Dorm Parents who work in the boarding program. The Dorm Parents address parental concerns about any aspect of the boarding program and provide direct daily support for each boarding student. Our boarding program is extremely busy, and we believe that involvement in a wide variety of activities serves to enhance each student’s residential life experience. The Dorm Parents strive to achieve the goal of involved, challenged, and cared-for students. They provide support, encouragement, and guidance in an environment that is welcoming for all.
To our students: The SJASL team of Dorm Staff is here to help you and to guide you during your time in SJASL Dorms. Boarding school comes with some challenges: distance from family and friends, social readjustment, sharing a room, long days, weekend commitments, and the list could go on. There will be times when you feel you cannot manage or that the pressure and stress are too much. Do not panic! We are here for you! You are an important person in this Dorm and School. Being in dorms is like having a second family.
